Writing your resume in 2022
Mark Smith:
Hello, g'day! How are you?

Krystal:
I'm very good. How's Melbourne?

Mark Smith:
Sunny! Melbourne's beautiful. Are you jealous?

Krystal:
Yeah.

Mark Smith:
Well, why would somebody from Sydney be jealous of Melbourne? I don't know. Where are we going with that, Krystal?

Krystal:
Well, we're sunny, 28 degrees for the next week, no rain. There you go. That's the reason right there.

Mark Smith:
Here's the reason. Right. So, you've got three tips for us. What have you got?

Krystal:
Absolutely. This time of year, everyone's looking, and with the Great Resignation, people are ready to leave. They may not have looked at their CV for quite some time. So, I thought it was a great time to pass on my three tips for updating your CV. The first one is addressing gaps in your employment history. Over the last two years, many job seekers have been affected by COVID or lockdowns. It's super important to be transparent on your CV, whether you've been affected by COVID or not. Hiring managers will likely find out if your timeline doesn't stack up. Being open and honest on your CV is crucial. Remember, a gap on a CV isn't a bad thing; life happens. Addressing it early ensures no awkward conversations.

Mark Smith:
Right. I think...

Krystal:
Oh, Crystal's frozen there for a second.

Mark Smith:
While we're getting Crystal back online, we have those three positions I mentioned for Field Job Friday. All on LinkedIn, so you can apply there. Also, you might be on a bus right now, listening on your phone. We have the ability to accept your application as a video. Use Vply, a video application software. You can find the link to the jobs with Vply in the comments.

Krystal:
Do we have Crystal back at all?

Mark Smith:
I don't think so. We might just have to leave it there with Crystal. We'll get her back next week with those three tips.
